    This will be a joint lunch meeting with SMACNA and Mike Wolf will be the speaker.

    Topic: Energy Standard/Codes & Impact on Fan Selection

    Summary: This presentation will focus on Energy legislation and initiatives, fan energy regulation, energy standard and code adoption and compliance. The history of legislation and regulation is discussed leading to the Fan Efficiency Grade and other current and forthcoming regulations and metrics. Finally, a discussion on how all of this affects fan selection.

    Speaker Bio: Mike Wolf is a 30 year veteran of the HVAC industry. He has an engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin and is also a Licensed PE. Mike started his career as an Application Engineer with Greenheck and through the years has held positions in engineering, sales, marketing, software development and general management. Mike has been active in the development of test standards and codes with ASHRAE, AMCA, AHRI, UL, NFPA, ICC and others. Mike recently participated on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Working Group responsible for developing recommendations on Fan Energy Regulation. As a result of Mike’s input to the Fan Regulation Working Group the U.S. Secretary of Energy appointed Mike to the 12 member Appliance Standards and Rulemaking Federal Advisory Committee.
