    Join us for a joint informational meeting with the Board of the South West Region the Building Commissioning Association (BCA).

    Building Commissioning has made its way into the building codes, it continues to have an impact on the projects we support and the final deliverable to our building owners. We need to be aware of the impact(s) to our projects, identify them early and understand some of industry best practices to adequately advise our owners and scale our efforts in interacting with Commissioning. ASHRAE Standard 202 outlines the commissioning process but it is not often fully embraced by all owners, projects or providers.

    Come hear about the most current trends in Building Commissioning from industry experts. Our panel discussion explores the roles, and interactions of the Cx Authority and Design Engineer. You’ll hear from certified professionals how the BCA approaches the commissioning life cycle and hopefully leave with a better understanding of the goals and intentions of commissioning professionals that you’ll continue to interact with.  Fundamentally, how we work together to achieve an energy efficient well run building and happy owners. 

    Introductions of the Panelist 

    Tracey Whaley, PE, CCP

    Tracey is a Commissioning Leader with DLR Group with over 25 years of experience. She began her career as a mechanical design engineer prior to transitioning to providing commissioning services. She is a graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S. in Architectural Engineer. Tracey is a long time member of ASHRAE, serving as Government Affairs Chair for Central Florida Chapter 2010-2011, as well as serving in various positions with the Society of Women Engineers.

    Tom Poeling, PE, CCP, CEM

    Tom is the Director of Energy Solutions for U.S. Engineering Company, a mechanical contractor.  Tom has 24 years experience in energy consulting and commissioning, having graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.  Tom serves on the national board of the Building Commissioning Association and also serves as chairperson of their Marketing Committee. 

    Matt Cooper, PE, CCP

    Matt is a Principal and the Commissioning Team Leader at Group14 Engineering.  Matt has 17 years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning. He graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering. He is actively involved with the Building Commissioning Association as a Southwest Chapter Board Member. He is also a frequent presenter on commissioning for the Colorado Educational Institute and recently presented at the 2017 ASHRAE Winter Conference on “Real Time Data Monitoring to Get Building Operation on Track.”

    Noah Welshans

    Noah brings an over 16 year career as a technical consultant and project manager focused on IT Security and Architecture, Building Automation Design, Analytics, and Commissioning. Noah's hands on technical experience aids in decision making about energy efficient design choices, building operation and maintenance, and integration of these systems and technologies. Noah is also an outspoken advocate of improving the Built Environment connection of buildings, occupants, the environment and is currently pursuing his WELL AP and also volunteers on the USGBC Colorado Education Committee and Southwest Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association.
