    Denver, CO 80222

The presentations focus is on design considerations for Water Side Economizers. It begins with a review of the key requirements and exceptions for water side economizers as prescribed in the ASHRAE Energy Standard 90.1-2010. Several design approaches will be reviewed highlighting the pros and cons of each. The reviews will include system designs and piping arrangements that include non-integrated and integrated economizers, cooling tower sizing strategies and winterization considerations, gasket plate heat exchangers selection and sizing considerations, and closed circuit cooling tower considerations. The presentation will also include operational considerations for entering and exiting economizer mode to minimize equipment problems and overall operating costs.

"Water Side Economizers" will be presented by Mr. Larry Konopacz, the Manager of Training and Education for the Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse. Mr. Konopacz is a LEED AP and a Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCxP) with a wealth of industry experience having served in a variety of training, engineering, and manufacturing capacities at Bell & Gossett during the past 30 years. He is also a certified VBLSS Black Belt and Lean Master. He earned BS and MS degrees in Industrial Technology at Western Illinois University, and an MBA in Managerial Accounting at DePaul University.
