    April 2020 Webinar Meeting

The engineering story of The Alliance Center from everyday office building to a LEED facility showing the way for other office facilities.

Overview: The story of turning an office space of closed off areas with limited occupants in a historic building into an office space with open lines to daylight, multiple meeting areas, increased occupant density and achieving multiple LEED certifications.  Discussion of the design process from a mechanical and electrical engineering viewpoint and why it varied from a typical design.  The engineering successes of the project, the energy-saving options considered and why they didn’t get incorporated, and lessons learned.  Ongoing engineering efforts after the construction of the project, including integrating constantly advancing technology, continuous monitoring, and research of the next projects.
