    ROcky Mountain ASHRAE Board of Governors is open to candidates

    Your local Rocky Mountain ASHRAE will be electing a new junior board member on April 24, 2021.  This exciting opportunity is open annually to all local ASHRAE members.  It is a 6 year commitment, with a year served as newsletter editor, treasurer, secretary, programs director, vice president, and president.

    The ASHRAE Technology Awards recognize outstanding achievements by members who have successfully applied innovative building design in the areas of occupant comfort, indoor air quality and energy conservation. Their designs incorporate ASHRAE standards for effective energy management and IAQ. Performance is proven through one year’s actual, verifiable operating data.

    The purpose of the ASHRAE Technology Awards program is to:

    • Recognize ASHRAE members who design and/or conceive innovative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data;..
    • Communicate innovative systems designs to other ASHRAE members;
    • Highlight technological achievements of ASHRAE to others, including associated professionals and societies worldwide, as well as building and facility owners...


    Each year the Society may present awards in six categories: Commercial Buildings (New, Existing, Existing Building Commissioning); Institutional Buildings (New, Existing, Existing Building Commissioning) Health Care Facilities (New, Existing, Existing Building Commissioning); Industrial Facilities or Processes (New, Existing, Existing Building Commissioning); Public Assembly (New, Existing, Existing Building Commissioning); Residential

    For each category first, second, and honorable mention winners may be named. Also, one of the category first place winners may be selected to receive the ASHRAE Award of Engineering Excellence. The recipient will have demonstrated the best overall compliance with the judging criteria...

    Chapter Participants Complete the Short Form Application and forward to [email protected] by April 16, 2021.

    Chapter winners in each category may complete the Short Form or Long Application and forward to CTTC RVC for judging at the regional level

    Regional winners in each category must complete the Long Form Application and forward to CTTC RVC for judging at the Society level. Note:  Only regional first-place winners can submit a application for the Society level competition

    Virtual Monthly Meetings

    Please note, Rocky Mountain ASHRAE will be using GoToWebinar for our virtual meetings. Our CTTC Chair, will be emailing out the meeting link to registrants the Monday before the meeting and again one hour before the meeting on Wednesday. Please be sure to sign up by 10am on Wednesday in order to get the meeting link.

    If you are interested in PDH credits, please email Scott McQuoid at [email protected] and he will assist you.

    Unless specified at the beginning of the presentation, all meetings will be recorded. The recorded presentation will only be available to meeting registrants. The recording link will be emailed out by the Friday following the meeting.

    Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued a Proclamation that February 17th through February 23rd will be National Engineers Week in the State of Colorado. Congratulations to Rocky Mountain Chapter Government Affairs Chair Steve Ferguson for spearheading the effort for this Proclamation.
